Women In Time Change History

That is not what we said W.I.T.C.H. stood for then.  But I thought meeting in the graveyard of  Wall St was profound if witty.  The W.I.T.C.H. on that announcement was Women Incensed by  Telephone Company Harrassment.

I wasn't alone.  Naomi Jaffe had recruited three or four SDS women to join me.  I wish I could remember their names.  Naomi and I had joined Perry who was working at Travelers when W.I.T.C.H. did our first work-in there. Although I tell everyone who ever calls to interview me, historians have almost completely the serious  W.I.T.C.H. projects that followed the Witches' Hexing of Wall St  Halloween  1968.   W.I.T.C.H. stood for Women In Traveler's Corporate Hell when we were organizing at Travelers.  That's where I got fired for wearing slacks to work in a snow storm.  Well, not at first.  First I was sent home to change.  Instead of coming back in a skirt, I came in long johns.  Then I was fired. We threw up a picket line.  Mike came and took pictures.  And he made up the ditty:  Sacked for wearing slacks.  Fired for making fun.  Travelers has no sense of humor, Pun, Pun, Punish Travelers.  Sacked for ...."
I wasn't alone at ATT either.  Naomi had taken a job at Staten Island Community College and later went underground. But she
