EPISCOPAL NEWS SEPTEMBER 3, 2021 That link to the Trinity Episcopal Church in Wall Street popped up in my email today.Today I am busily exchanging facebook posts about the Republican party governing the Legislature and Governor of my home state and the Supreme Court of the USA. It is now openly and legally terrorizing me. I now honestly fear two men in the little Episcopal Church they and I both love are already feeling that God wants them to sue me for aiding and abetting the crime of abortion.Seeing Trinity Episcopal on Wall Street in the context of fearing two once good Episcopalian friends could be moved to anti-abortion vigilantism triggered a memory. It was just about 52 years ago today that I convened a meeting at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Wall Streetin the grave yard. I'd typed copies announcing the meeting, five or six to a page.
I scotch taped them on the back of the doors in the rest rooms. That had been the easiest way to alert or remind people in college.It is a relief to see the enemy clearly reveal itself. What could be clearer than offering bounties to vigilantes who turn us in for aiding and abetting the abortion of a pregnancy.
