Thumping through Brooks Brothers Christmas catalog, 2020, I clipped this add of a lizard skin purse like the one on the back shelf of Mike's mom's closet I found going through her things after she died and brought home along with some other treasures. Some of Vivi's treasures I wear. Not the ring she'd had appraised and left me in her will, but some necklaces and scarfs, I may eventually offer here, but not now. Some of her kitchen pots and utensils, all better quality than I ever buy or inherited from my mom or grandmother, 'tho the latter's jar lid opener is still the best and kept handy.
We still received a Brooks Brothers catalog in the mail, though the store a block and a half away in Atlanta's downtown center of convention hotels closed a decade ago. Wonder if we will 2022.
When I saw the price for which Brooks Brothers is selling a purse just like Vivi's, I fished it from the back of top shelf, the only shelf, in my closet, fetched it down, and started investigating how to sell on EBay. It's been a thing that needs a place to go other than moving from one cluttered surface in our small apartment to another ever since.
